Agreed. It is dark, and that’s what it felt like when I saw it. The trick was to expose in a way that kept all the details inside the boat and, at the same time, not have the ‘white’ of the outside of the boat blow out.
(I expect this looks different on some older, smaller or uncalibrated screens; at full size here there’s detail in the shadows on the beach and under the water)
