That time of day gives the image a haunting quality.
Agreed. It is dark, and that’s what it felt like when I saw it. The trick was to expose in a way that kept all the details inside the boat and, at the same time, not have the ‘white’ of the outside of the boat blow out.
(I expect this looks different on some older, smaller or uncalibrated screens; at full size here there’s detail in the shadows on the beach and under the water)
This photo has a lovely quality. The wood tones are super. Looks equally rich in depth on my big Mac and iPad.
