This is a crazy, quick thinking and no-holds-barred silly group that at once cracks you up and makes you wonder how they do it.
The thing is, they’ve managed to qualify with the other top improv teams in Canada for the Nationals of the Canadian Improv Games.
As you may know, performing arts at Gulf Islands Secondary School (GISS) has been my sole business cause for years. While I usually work with the GISPA group, it’s a treat to help out with the Improv kids this month. Coincidentally, a team from (I think) four years ago also travelled to the Nationals. And there were some siblings of the pictured students in that group. And those folks just signed releases to allow a photograph I’d taken of them during an ArtSpring performance to appear as the front cover of a novel (about improv) for middle school age students. Together we donated the $500 to help get the 2015 team to Ottawa.
