Wandering around in downtown Ganges, I came upon this seemingly powerful plant. This is the back roof of the funky little Café Talia on Herford Street.

On a perfect spring morning, seeing the first daisy—unspoiled by time, is a wonderful thing. Until next year.

They’re back. It’s fun watching the young eagles playing chase games on Salt Spring beaches this time of year.

Another member of the very local wildlife here. This Barred Owl flew meters away from my office window and spent the late afternoon in this tree (which I can see from my desk). Couldn’t not take this photo, especially since I didn’t have to leave the office.
