A Bufflehead duck swims through the pinks and blues of an early morning sky.

This was yesterday morning’s view from the office window. 10+ cm. of unusually dry (for the wet coast) snow!
A few flurries around here are an excuse for a snow day, so this is exceptional.

Two boys, oblivious to the late November afternoon chill, are fishing from Fernwood Dock.
Somehow they also nab a good sized crab and immediately each produces a smartphone to over-document the event.

A nicely weathered building, closed up and ready to endure another west coast winter.

Before the sunrise.
A recent frosty morning on the Ganges waterfront; a Coast Guard inflatable bobs silently at the dock.
Photographs of Salt Spring Island and areas reachable by ferry and road (and sometimes off-road).
