Upside Down

November 30, 2016

Upside Down
Some of the youngest at Fulford Elementary School play during the lunch break. This photo comes from the Gulf Islands School District where I look after the District website and provide photographs.

(It also hints at tomorrow’s post where I turn things upside down…sort of.)

Water!

November 17, 2016

Water!
My new favourite Salt Spring Island stream puts on a show after each major rain.
Does this image kind of make you wonder where the intrepid/foolhardy photographer was standing?

SSI Waterfall with Edit

November 9, 2016

SSI Waterfall with edit
(Here’s something we haven’t done in almost nine years of Salt Spring Photos…
Several distracting elements were edited out of this version of yesterday’s image. It’s nearly impossible to find a scene like this without dead leaves, a stick or log in an ‘awkward spot’ — items which draw your eye away from the message/impact of the photograph. So what do you think, is this a more pleasing image than yesterday’s version of the image? If you had a large print on your wall of yesterday’s version, would those elements begin to bother you?)

Water tumbles down from Mount Tuam on Salt Spring Island.
