Last Friday saw the first frost of the season at the marinas and docks in Ganges. And the beginnings of a low layer of fog (caused by the difference between sea and air temperatures) over the water. For the next month or so, the sun rises straight into Ganges harbour making early winter mornings very special.
That is a fine start of the day.
And it became perfectly clear within 30 minutes. The challenge with this location is the imperceptible movement of the dock. It could only be seen in live view at 10x magnification—the tug moved slowly up and down in the viewfinder.
I like the mood in this shot.
Interesting. When preparing the image, I could have displayed it in a happier, lighter tone. But the scene above was, pre-sunrise, what I saw.
Beautiful. The low hanging cloud as a framing. The light on the dock white with frost. The pink and purples of the sunset. The boat we all know so well and the star burst off the light.
Thanks Gayle. When I saw all the cloud in the dark morning, I almost turned around and went home. You never know…
That’s gorgeous. Fabulous colours.
Thanks Jane. All the best on the Isle of Man: ( Jane’s Isle of Man website)
