8:15 a.m. Ganges
Earlier it looked like we were in for a dull morning, but the clouds moved southward, the sun rose straight down the harbour and illuminated a golden layer of sea fog.
Seahorse once again plays a role.

Again

Seahorse again. Another spectacular sunrise.

First Frost

Last Friday saw the first frost of the season at the marinas and docks in Ganges. And the beginnings of a low layer of fog (caused by the difference between sea and air temperatures) over the water. For the next month or so, the sun rises straight into Ganges harbour making early winter mornings very special.
Seahorse in Soft Rain

The most photographed boat in Ganges Harbour. Partly because it is so visually west coast and interesting. And partly because it’s tied up in a position that makes it part of everyone’s photos ;-)
It’s become an icon in the Harbour. It looks particularly good in the rain, in fog, and during a winter sunrise.
(searching below for seahorse or tug will find more images of this icon)
