Photographs of Salt Spring Island and areas reachable by ferry and road (and sometimes off-road).
Southey Point trail beach North end?
I think it is at low tide and a little farther inland! NO?
We are guessing Southey Point as well, on the east side.
Without seeing the comments I was guessing the Southey Point trail. If it’s not I’d like to go there!
I think this is the ‘inside’ of Walkers Hook, because the bottom ‘hint’ picture looks like the the south-east facing beach on the ‘outside’. Make sense? :)
I grew up on that beach, I know every piece of it well. Still my favourite place, Southey point.
the trail that takes you to that beach leaves from right at the base of southey pt road, just off Sunset, and heads north east out to the water’s edge…
I really like the mood in both shots.
Thanks everyone for the guesses.
The first image was captured near the foot of the stairs (leading to the beach) on the Jack Foster Trail. Access to the trail is at Sunset Drive and Southey Point Road.
The second image is the lovely shell beach accessible at a four foot or lower tide. From the Jack Foster Trail it’s a short walk under the large pier/dock and along the shore west towards Southey Point. (the beach is just east of Southey Point Road)
