Best wishes to everyone during this festive season.

Legions of birds have been feasting on the Arbutus berries in our neck of the woods.

Despite a “cloudy day” forecast, this was the scene near the top of Mount Erskine.

Junipers and deck blanketed in snow. Happy Winter!
This was the scene outside our front door yesterday morning.
Thought for the day:
A four wheel drive vehicle even with locking differential is not really 4WD in the snow,
if it’s not equipped with good snow tires…

At Fernwood Pier.

Brazilian Student at GISS
This is a candid image taken in the multipurpose room at Gulf Islands Secondary. Each International Program student had prepared samples of their home country’s foods. And they were handing out free samples, so there was a big crowd of hungry teens on hand.
I noticed a narrow beam coming from a second story window about 100 feet away. This girl stepped into the light and in front of a colourful poster.
Today is the last day of classes before the break. The mid-way point in the year, and the second semester at GISS, begins in February.

Saltspring Harbour Authority Docks
All is not perfect in paradise it seems. And I’ve certainly seen better maintained sailboats on Salt Spring Island…particularly the Tanzer 7.5
Photographs of Salt Spring Island and areas reachable by ferry and road (and sometimes off-road).
