A healthy young Black Tail Deer at East Point, Saturna Island.
This time of year, mid-week and early evening, a person pretty much has East Point to themselves. It was great to have a bit of company, wary as he was.

Orca with Prevost and Salt Spring Islands in the background.
I know lots of people seem to see whales from the ferry. Finally it was my turn. These are shot late in the day from the back of the boat as we stayed well clear of the Orcas. The middle and right images below were taken far, far, far from the boat. Still, it’s a representation at least, of some of their antics.

This is the flip side of yesterday’s Shoreline Sculpture image. Yesterday’s image was captured looking somewhat inland. Today’s image looks more out to sea. The wind was coming up, there was a light rain and the colour and texture of the intertidal zone was magnificent.
For the gulls on the nearby rock, just another day at the office.
