
Much of Salt Spring Island is rock. Rock that is close to the surface. Or is the surface. Hence, when your are heading off the island to visit civilization, you are getting off the rock.

A quick day trip to Vancouver Island. Little Qualicum river flows out of Cameron Lake*. There are a series of falls in Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park–easily accessible with views like this–all behind the safety of a fence.
