Here’s another Saturday home. We’re looking (from Salt Spring) through Captain Passage with Salt Spring on the left, Prevost on the right and Galiano in the background. And Vancouver behind the clouds. This is a small portion of the upper deck of a two-deck home on a 25 acre estate now on the market (for less than a knock-down in Vancouver…).
Navigating the First Hole
1:00 p.m. at the Salt Spring Golf Course
In the driving rain, a Mallard duck and two Canada Geese enjoy a swim on one of their newly discovered lakes. Another goose performs maintenance and fertilization. Welcome to the Salt Spring Island Golf and Country Club.
(I’ll be donating my time the next four days to the Gulf Islands School of Performing Arts (GISPA) as part of my business cause: performing arts at Gulf Islands Secondary. I will have little or no time to do anything else so it’s likely that the next post will appear on Friday, March 18th)
Downpour
It was gusting 101 km/h at 6:00 am this morning and, as expected when you live in the trees, there were power outages. And buckets of rain. Our rain barrels filled once per hour for about six hours. Then the rain stopped, the sun broke through the clouds, and I dealt with the carnage on the driveway.
Honk
Filed under ‘things you don’t see in the city’. Is signage getting out of control in your neck of the woods?
Sunday Still Life
Enjoying yesterday’s sunshine, I stumbled upon this and it made me chuckle. I do that sometimes. I believe this painting has a home at the Fall Fair. But right now it’s just propped up in front of a weathered wooden wall—hence the blank faces.
