At Telegraph Cove on northern Vancouver Island.
Lots of interesting history and some picturesque portions in this partly pretty village. Also some grossly non-picturesque commercial portions that seem ridiculously out of place. At least that was my take.
There are lots of rapids like this and some superb waterfalls within Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park near Cameron Lake (named after a well known Westie) on central Vancouver Island.
The southern shore at East Point is a feast for the eyes.
And a special experience when you are the only person around on a morning like this.

My favourite local tree. It’s common to see these colour layers when there’s a bit of cloud on a summer evening.
Switching things up a bit. This time we’re looking toward Salt Spring Island from East Point, Saturna Island. Gorgeous evening.
