There’s the Queen (of Nanaimo) at Long Harbour on Salt Spring Island.
She’s ready to ferry another load to the other southern Gulf Islands and to Tsawwassen on the BC mainland on ‘Route 9’.
And I believe she’s due to be replaced by two new ‘Intermediate Class’ vessels in October 2016, and in April 2017.
Something a little different in this Saturday home post. This detail is the inside of the front doors at a west Salt Spring house. The geared entrance set is by local master craftsman Illtyd Perkins.
Earlier this summer, Barbra Edwards and Fiona Duthie teamed to create the exhibition SHIFT exploring layers of perspective at Mahon Hall. It was an intriguing combination of fabric art and painting. Paintings and dresses were paired to work together…and they did. Clever show…a bit of New York on Salt Spring.

This customized International 7300, visiting from Oregon, was carefully not parked downtown during the long weekend. Good plan.
The vehicle was produced from 2004 to 2008, is a diesel 4×4 and weighs twice as much as the original giant Hummer.
I like the colour.
