The Bus

September 10, 2014

The Bus, Saturna Island

The Bus (aka Wild Thyme Coffee House), Saturna Island

A café with seating upstairs on the double decker bus.  There’s an interesting story of how it came to be.

The young woman (back) is explaining her latest drawing. She told me it was her 43rd drawing of the tiny house she hopes to have built. Her job in The Bus gives her some experience in small spaces…

*this is another ‘Daytrip’ posting; brace yourself as there are a few more Saturna photos coming…

Ocean Concrete Giants

Ocean Concrete Giants in Vancouver, BC

Another ‘day trip’ photo from Vancouver

Brazillian graffiti artist twins, Gustavo and Otavio Pandolfo, have transformed the huge silos at Ocean Concrete in Vancouver’s Granville Island into a 360 degree, 23 metre tall ‘mural’.

The Granville Island area attracts over 10 million visitors a year, including me. It’s good to get off ‘the rock’ (Salt Spring) occasionally to see the world…

Livin’ the Dream

Livin' the Dream

3pm on a daytrip to Vancouver

There’s brother-in-law Bill, sitting on the front lawn with his new Lamborghini. Zero to 100 km/h in 3.2 sec. That will get you to the office in record time Billy-boy.

I think he’s keeping up with the neighbours:

Flat Black Lambo

(don’t believe everything you read on the internet)

Poets Cove in Bedwell Harbour, South Pender Island

July 25, 2014

Poets Cove, Bedwell Harbour, South Pender Island

9:15 pm Poets Cove at Bedwell Harbour, South Pender Island

Leaving Pender and heading back to Salt Spring; about 30 minutes on a quick boat in calm seas.

(You may have noticed I’ve filed this photo under the ‘Daytrip’ category. Because we live on an island, many of us make a number of ‘day trips’ off the island. And it’s time to acknowledge that again here on the Salt Spring Island daily photo website.)

Stunning Ridge View Home

July 12, 2014

© John Cameron Ridge View Home

Another home for your Saturday viewing pleasure.

Complete with stunning spaces throughout.

And an intriguing use of a ‘cantilever’ theme in both structure and built-in furniture.
