Reflections in a door at the Salt Spring Island Cheese Company.
Just released: a promotional piece for the International Education program in the Gulf Islands School District. Produced with former GISS student and now Vancouver videographer, Eric Peterson. There’s a nice look at the area, the school (GISS), and the kids; and about 160 of my photos. About 3 and one half minutes.

* this post was scheduled to publish on the first day of school; unfortunately that’s no longer happening today, September 2nd.

Another home for your Saturday viewing pleasure… and this one stretches the 602 square foot limit for a cottage on a Salt Spring acreage with some of the building bumped out/cantilevered past the foundation (some properties, usually 5 acres or more are allowed a second dwelling with a maximum 602 sq. ft.).
In the photo above it’s just after sunset and we’re looking from outside, through the kitchen window, with dining and living beyond. That’s a two sided gas fireplace– the other side is outside on a covered patio.
Below is the morning view as seen from all the view windows (including the master bedroom).

While on a shoot with Chris Humphries for AQUA Mag, Chris’ son helped by holding a reflector for some of the shots of his Dad.
So during the shoot, I asked him to hop up on his Dad’s desk for one shot to check the light. He did…with style. (his mother likes it :)

9:10 pm, Burgoyne Bay on Salt Spring Island
Burgoyne Bay is a BC Provincial Park established in 2004. It’s just a few bumpy minutes off the Fulford-Ganges superhighway.
During this extended clear warm weather, the setting sun produces a clean gradation of colours from purply blue through pinks, yellows and orange.
Photographs of Salt Spring Island and areas reachable by ferry and road (and sometimes off-road).
