The Skeena Queen burns a bunch of that increasingly expensive diesel as she leaves the Fulford Harbour terminal on a dark and damp winter day.

Ice # 3
This photo was made right along the shore, looking almost straight down. (the ice was new and thin on this lake)
Again, the bottom provided a warm coloured background while the sky added neutral and cool highlights.

Ice No. 2
The weather and light changed during my travels in search of ice on Salt Spring Lakes. More clouds in the sky here, but still some clear blue sections. And you can see rocks and leaves on the lake bottom.
The slightest change in viewing angle produced surprisingly different images; colour and detail.
Texture and pattern are the stars in this image.

Stowell Lake, Salt Spring Island
Partially filtered light on the shoreline at Stowell lake produced some interesting reflections on the new ice. This picture shows about four feet of the lake.
