A mystical morning with light fog and a golden glow at the start of a summer day.

The altered reality of a foggy scene is just too good to ignore. These two quick snapshots were taken on my way back down a Salt Spring mountain. The superb helicopter I was scheduled to fly in was grounded. Unfortunate because we were off to do some aerial photography of the Velo Village cyclists-only ferry.
Silver lining: I was able to experience the fog instead.

Feast your eyes on the route Velo Village cyclists will take from Fulford Harbour to Ganges.
The cyclists, 400 strong, will travel from Swartz Bay to Fulford on BC Ferries first bike-only ferry on Saturday, June 23rd at 10 am. Leaving the bike ferry, they will take part in a fun ride along Stewart and Beddis Roads to Ganges. (route map)
Local artists have decorated a great many bikes for the event. Most are in the Ganges core; the rest can be found along the three routes from the BC Ferry terminals to Ganges (Fulford, Vesuvius, and Long Harbour).

This tree is rooted just a couple of feet from a 600 foot cliff face.
Perhaps that’s why it’s trying to get to a more comfortable spot.
