OK, I can’t imagine any father not smiling when seeing this.
Two Salt Spring Dads were surprised Sunday to receive a creative Father’s Day ‘Dad Project’. The idea was to create a group of three photos, something like the one below. Gulf Island Picture Framing put the final project together.

Gotta Serve Somebody by Gulf Island Secondary School Acting 11/12. Photos were taken during yesterday’s dress rehearsal run-through. The show runs today and tomorrow at ArtSpring.

Opening for Acting 11/12 is Drama 9/10. For many of these students, it’s their first time on stage. Their second short performance is called This is a Test. Very funny! Nice to see some kids up their making their first performance and lots of grade 12s making their final performance.

Came across this loft today in what was being called a barn.
Nice barn.

Illtyd Perkins, sporting a Sea Capers 98 cap, arrives at the finish line first, narrowly beating the boat carrying his son and friends.
Sea Capers is back in 2013. And so is the Build a Boat Race.
Below, the first photo shows the prettiest boat (that ventured only a few feet from shore), Captain Jack starting the foot race to the boats, and a few mishaps and some mayhem. And of course, a Salt Spring free spirit oblivious to it all and performing on her own little island.
Congratulations to the organizers and volunteers.
Enjoy the story these photos tell:
