This is what a full campground looks like at Ruckle Provincial Park on Salt Spring Island.
Shortly after the sun hit this tent with the full force of a clear August morning, its occupants began to come alive.

This person, probably a camper, was enjoying the early morning peace, waiting for the sun to make an appearance over the Pender Islands.
Car traffic attempts to get to Ganges from the north while two optimistic travellers await the bus. Meanwhile bikers prepare for a Salt Spring ascent.
The famously clogged parking lot that has a road through its middle.
There’s the bus that the folks in the top photo were waiting for. And more traffic—this time trying to get into Ganges from the south. Meanwhile workers prod the village sink hole for the lost contractor who paints the faded lines on Salt Spring’s roads.
People arriving, people departing. And, depending on how you look at it, some people are arriving to depart…
Friday through Monday are the busiest times as folks commute to and from Vancouver. And other folks come for the weekend.
Saw this monster on our west-facing deck. It can fly…a bit. Does anyone know what this is?
