It’s just a leaf.
I might have walked right by without noticing it last year.
But this year I find it interesting and special.

Cameron (family dog for those just joining us) took me along the waterside trail to the point past Burgoyne Bay.

This is one of those things photographers like to do: photograph what catches your eye, then turn around to check if there’s something equally good or better behind you. On these hikes I rarely lug along the heavy professional gear; lately just the diminutive Ricoh GR, a very serious fixed lens camera that fits in a pocket.
