Lots of people on Fernwood Pier these changeable spring days.
And lots of dogs ready to engage in games of leash tangle.
And superb clouds lurking over Galiano Island.
And Happy May, 2015.

A spring chicken cluster at Night Owl Farm on Salt Spring Island (they’ve got oreos too)
Want to see where the hens hang out when not out and about?

The grass is always greener.
One of four Alpacas on the farm across from Drummond Park. Apparently named John, Paul, George and Ringo.
I asked this guy his name but he was just to darned busy to reply.

Scotch Broom on Isabella Point Road (across from the Fulford Ferry Terminal)
Once the land has been cleared and the sun wakes up the dormant Broom seeds (I’m told the seeds can lie dormant for up to 60 years…) It only takes three to four years to create a fast spreading scene like this.
We’ve seen Broom before on the Salt Spring Photo of the Day (June, 2012). See also Royal BC Museum’s Aliens Among Us.

Looking out Ganges Harbour (Ganges is slightly to the right of this view) and wondering what the summer will bring as this sleepy island wakes up to the seasonal influx of visitors.
Photographs of Salt Spring Island and areas reachable by ferry and road (and sometimes off-road).
