Salt Spring Home with Two Masters

This Saturday’s look at Salt Spring homes features a unique home with two master bedroom wings. Each has tons of floor space. Behind the headboard is a large room with closet, storage, laundry and deluxe bath. The house is perched high above Ganges on a peninsula of land which juts out to provide not only privacy but also a view of both sunrise and sunset. But not both at the same time…

The Bus

The Bus, Saturna Island

The Bus (aka Wild Thyme Coffee House), Saturna Island

A café with seating upstairs on the double decker bus.  There’s an interesting story of how it came to be.

The young woman (back) is explaining her latest drawing. She told me it was her 43rd drawing of the tiny house she hopes to have built. Her job in The Bus gives her some experience in small spaces…

*this is another ‘Daytrip’ posting; brace yourself as there are a few more Saturna photos coming…

Wealthy Cottage 1

Another Saturday peek at Salt Spring Island homes (are you getting tired of this Saturday feature?).

Ocean Concrete Giants

Ocean Concrete Giants in Vancouver, BC

Another ‘day trip’ photo from Vancouver

Brazillian graffiti artist twins, Gustavo and Otavio Pandolfo, have transformed the huge silos at Ocean Concrete in Vancouver’s Granville Island into a 360 degree, 23 metre tall ‘mural’.

The Granville Island area attracts over 10 million visitors a year, including me. It’s good to get off ‘the rock’ (Salt Spring) occasionally to see the world…
