Conflict

July 7, 2016

Conflict
Fresh out of the studio, another piece by Peter McFarlane. You may remember that among other artistic endeavours, Peter creates sculptures from repurposed materials. And sometimes his work makes a statement of the conflict between wild animals and man.

Coincidently, while picking up his work today he mentioned his ongoing battle involving the deer who somehow continue to find their way past his defences to happily forage in his garden… sounds like Salt Spring Island.

Race to Alaska Sky; Day One

June 27, 2016

June Sunset from Fernwood Pier
Calm evening in Trincomali Channel about 40 minutes after sunset.
This type of view was seen up and down Georgia Strait last night as the Race to Alaska fleet (no motors, no support, all the way to Alaska) made their way from Victoria (noon start to Ketchikan Alaska). If you haven’t heard of R2AK, you might find it interesting. (click the Race to Alaska link above)
