Poised for Take-Off

April 7, 2015

Four Wheel Camper Waiting

Poised…in the driveway.

I don’t believe I’ve ever been accused of being patient. So, with one eye on the weather on Vancouver Island’s west coast (and beyond), and the other on current and future work commitments, I’m hoping for a series of short, last-minute escapes this spring, summer and fall.

The Salt Spring Photo of the Day is quite possibly going to have some interruptions when I’m out of range of the internet world. So those of you who rely solely on a daily email to view the photo of the day may not always get one. You should probably bookmark this website address: saltspringphotos.com/blog and visit there for best results. I also plan to catch up on my return, another reason to visit the website.

All the best,

-jc

Hand Made Door Handle

In my travels through some of the finest homes on Salt Spring Island, I’ve seen some interesting things. This is one of many entrance features that have caught my eye. (the vertical laminated piece is under pressure due to the bend and works perfectly)

More photographs have been added to PRINTS page. Why not stop by for a look.

On Watch

Ferry Passenger

A ferry passenger seems to be standing watch on the Howe Sound Queen.

It’s an early morning sailing so the sun isn’t quite up and the lights of the mill at Crofton are reflecting across the ocean.

Light Traffic

My Commute

My commute to work one day this week.
Very light traffic—didn’t see another traveller for two hours.
Met some very nice trees, birds and a river.

Seasonal Stream

Seasonal Stream

Seasonal Waterfall, three metres from a trail.
This is what an undisturbed water course looks like in the old growth temperate rainforest—pristine, natural and…gorgeous.
Or should I have removed the dead leaves and sticks lying about before pressing the shutter?
