Well, it was frozen Friday morning. But it seems our three day winter may be over.
Cusheon Lake, located on central Salt Spring Island, does freeze some years. And has been the site of a few multi-day hockey games. Kind of a show-up-and-play type game.

GISPA and the various Gulf Islands Secondary music students have their end-of-semester performance at ArtSpring on Salt Spring Island Friday. This stunning winter view from the main dock in Ganges Harbour has been featured on Salt Spring Photos before. But not like this. From mid December to mid January, the sun rises at the end of the Harbour and some days puts on a spectacular show.The Seahorse is artfully anchored. And the geese seem to commute every morning at sunrise.
A calm moment in an energetic and phenomenal performance by this young actress. The Gulf Islands Secondary’s 2nd Story Productions entertained an ArtSpring audience with The Odyssey this week.

At the risk of repeating myself, I find great satisfaction in working in any way with the talented young people on the Island. The performing arts at GISS is my support cause this year.
This shot was one of a great many taken on stage during the technical dress rehearsal. The students have come to expect a photographer wandering through the scenes as they develop.
