It’s still Spring on the calendar. But it’s been summer for some time everywhere else.

For those of you not currently living on, or visiting Salt Spring Island, we’ve been having summer-like weather lately. So summer-like that just around the corner from this scene were some naked human seals— jumping into the icy ocean water and splashing about.

The Howe Sound Queen chugs across to Crofton in the blue light of the early morning run.

We made a quick stop on the Howe Sound Queen after leaving Vesuvius. The crew rapidly deployed the rescue boat and sped off to aid a…wait for it…
jet ski.
Good practice and fun for the crew (who clearly know what they were doing) and a good show for the passengers.

Early morning on Trincomali Channel
A peaceful dawn from Fernwood pier looking east towards Walker Rock, Galiano Island and Active Pass.
The sliver of moon, Walker Rock and the moon’s reflection are lined up. Can you see them? (tough at this size)
Photographs of Salt Spring Island and areas reachable by ferry and road (and sometimes off-road).
