Hello November.
Some rain, some wind, and suddenly the ground is covered with leaves.

A fern changing to its autumn colours enjoys its own light in a Salt Spring Island forest.

Not many weeks ago the playing fields at Gulf Islands Secondary were parched, devoid of grass and prepared for a rebirth. The SD64 grounds crew will continue to baby the fields for a few more months and then set the fields free to the not-so-patiently waiting hoards. It looks like it will be worth the wait.

Heirloom tomatoes at the Salt Spring Market this weekend.
The Saturday Market generally runs from Easter weekend to the end of October—so we’re approaching the end of the 2015 season.
