Ready for November on Salt Spring Island.

Before the Storm
Late afternoon hiking a ridge yesterday on Salt Spring’s west side.

The northern shoreline of St. Mary Lake. The water—at least on the surface—is green. Why?

Poplar leaves along Vesuvius Bay Road; perhaps unpopular.
Unless they leave on their own.

A cloudy day, after sunset looking east.
The ambient colour of the night sky is much cooler than the man-made lighting of the home—until the sky is black.
Even on an overcast day.
And that’s why it’s sometimes called blue hour.
Photographs of Salt Spring Island and areas reachable by ferry and road (and sometimes off-road).
