Sometimes a Trickle

Sometimes a trickle, sometimes a torrent.
Stay tuned, a follow-up tomorrow, right here at Salt Spring Photos.
No More Deliveries

1:30 p.m. Salt Spring Island, on the side of the road
This old van hasn’t made deliveries for many years.
Wouldn’t it be great if someone had the time, money and interest to give it a new life. Like this other Salt Spring vehicle we’ve seen in a previous post.
From the Office Window
Through the office window on a dark rainy day, a Pileated Woodpecker and I keep an eye on each other.
bonus: the bird was frozen on this Douglas Fir for more than six hours. Only its head was moving. I’ve read this can have something to do with that pesky hawk again. (after an altercation with a predator, the woodpecker may not return to its nest until the hawk has left the area)

Dull Day
Overcast, light showers, grey, fog patches, dark. The shortest day of the year was, as far as I could tell, short on pretty.
And I’m hoping this dull monochrome image portrayed the day well.
Still holding out hope for a glimpse of the rare Christmas full moon…
This is the Booth Canal area during the high ‘winter’ tides.
