Last Friday saw the first frost of the season at the marinas and docks in Ganges. And the beginnings of a low layer of fog (caused by the difference between sea and air temperatures) over the water. For the next month or so, the sun rises straight into Ganges harbour making early winter mornings very special.
I believe we’re looking at, from foreground to background: South Pender Island (Pender Bluffs and the entrance to Bedwell Harbour), Saturna Island, Bellingham area in Washington State and Mount Baker.

The well used waterfront storehouse of the Mouat’s building seen here on a dark and dreary—but somehow lovely—November afternoon. You can also see the storehouse in this 1928 photo at the Salt Spring Island Archives.
This is a rare sighting of the underwater creature that frequents the Grace Islet area.
A long exposure (32 seconds) gave the waves a soft, creamy look.
