Mount Baker and the North Cascade range (about 100 km away) are rarely seen from Salt Spring Island in November. We may not see this view again for some time. Zip up that GoreTex jacket.

Last Friday saw the first frost of the season at the marinas and docks in Ganges. And the beginnings of a low layer of fog (caused by the difference between sea and air temperatures) over the water. For the next month or so, the sun rises straight into Ganges harbour making early winter mornings very special.
